About Proposition 65
California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 — commonly known as Proposition 65 (Prop 65) — requires businesses to provide warnings to California consumers about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
The State of California maintains a list of over 900 chemicals that are subject to Prop 65 warning requirements. This list includes chemicals found in many everyday products, materials, and substances.
How This Applies to Our Products
Our spa cover strap kits include hardware components — buckles, D-rings, fasteners, and other metal parts — that may contain trace amounts of chemicals on the California Prop 65 list, including lead and lead compounds. These chemicals may be present in metal alloys, plating, or finishes used in the manufacturing process.
Out of an abundance of caution and in compliance with California law, we display this warning for all products sold or shipped to California residents.
Minimizing Exposure
The risk of chemical exposure from our strap kits under normal outdoor use is expected to be low. To minimize any potential exposure:
- Wash hands after handling metal hardware components
- Do not place metal hardware components in your mouth
- Keep products out of reach of small children
- Install the strap kit as directed and avoid unnecessary contact with metal buckles during regular spa use
