POSITION SUMMARY : Develops and maintains systems to promote high levels of patient, employee and physician satisfaction; as well as external customer satisfaction. Assumes 24 hour accountability for operations of Labor & Delivery and Antepartum Service. Responsible for assuring adequate staffing and maintaining appropriate productivity standards. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in the care of patients in designated areas. Develops patient care processes utilizing the nursing process-assessment, care planning, implementation, and reassessment- for identified population per the Colorado Nurse Practic e Act. Documents patient care, coordinates interdisc iplinary communication and care, participates on hospital committees , facilitate unit meetings , d evelops and implements unit specific competencies , annual performance of staff , supervises RN ’s, Certified Scrub Technicians , and Unit Secretaries. Provides coaching and counseling for employees as appropriate . M onitors and addresses employee attendance. Develop strateg ic plans for OB S ervices including: program development, quality standards and improvements, patient safety and patient satisfaction initiatives. Demonstrate understandin g of Joint Commission Standards. Supports and models facility and department values, policies, and procedures.
